activism

Using our talents, we have the power to shed light on injustice and fight for change in the world. This is something I strive to live my life by.

From Fall 2009 to Spring 2010 I did a year of service with the Washington AIDS International Teens (WAIT) teaching HIV/AIDS education through performing arts across the country. Then in December 2010 I had the life changing experience of continuing the same work in South Africa.

I am dedicated to raising awareness about human trafficking around the world. Two organizations I regularly support are Not for Sale and Love146. In there own ways, both organizations are dedicated to fighting this issue.

Its important to volunteer, to give back, to be aware and to be proactive. There are both large and small ways of making a positive impact on the world around us. Whether fighting large social issues or volunteering at a nursing home, we can make a difference.
